Hello Richard. I hope that whatever you choose to do in Rio that the cloud clears so you can enjoy the glorious views of the city. We were fortunate to choose an afternoon tour to Christ the Redeemer statue, having avoided the early cloud cover other tours had been subjected to. Whatever, you'll have a brilliant time. I should be thanking you (and Aldrich of Newbury) for advice given to other posters regarding advance booking. We went ahead and secured the cabin of our choice on the segment of our choice of the 2010 world cruise of QM2!, so we're happy about that. I promise not to do my Cunardly wait joke again. There are so many fabulous places to visit in Rio that you would need some time to see them all. In addition, if you really want to see something very special you can fly form Rio (or Montevideo) to see the Iguazu Falls. They are something any traveller should visit when in that part of South America for they are awe inspiring. as Mr. Okill says you must do your homework before you visit.
