Q:
Having problems at, just, age 70 getting full insurance for a world cruise under £2500 - £3000 for a couple. Most, if they quote at all, will only cover you for part of the total cost e. g. £5000 at about £1500. Any suggestions of a reliable but more reasonable Insurance company who understands and insures world cruises of more than 100 days? MGL

We used Direct Line for a cruise this yer for my Mother who is 80, arthritic and with a history of stomache problems. They insure up to 85 for all normal cruise activities - we paid £50 for 10 days in June.

My mum is aged 87 with no existing medical conditions and has found Virgin Travel insurance the cheapest by a long way. I don't know whether they would insure you both on a long world cruise but it may worth contacting them.

see my answer to the previous question on this board. which deals with medical ins difficulties however i think you are finding it difficult to get cover for if you should have to cancel your cruise? Have you tried the insurance recommended by Cunards Parent company? Otherwise, I too would go to a broker.

I think you'd be best off consulting an insurance broker. Have a look on www.biba.org.uk.
