Queen Victoria Embarks on Her Maiden Voyage
This weekend saw 1000's of guests and VIP's such as John Prescott the Deputy Prime minister and broadcaster Alan Whicker, visit the new Classic Cunarder Queen Victoria and enjoy the lavish naming ceremony.
HRH The Duchess of Cornwall with HRH Prince Charles visited the ship, and enjoyed a tour round the new liner which boasts a three tier, 830 seat theatre the first at sea to have west-end style boxes, and also a Royal Box. The liner described as the peer of floating palaces designed in the twilight years of Queen Victoria's reign. The materials used to build the Queen Victoria - marble, bronze, gold leaf, mahogany, elaborate stained glass are intended to recreate the era where cruise liners represented the height of opulence and sophistication. There is something for everyone on the ship from the fine dining that can rival any restaurant ashore to the Golden Lion a traditional british pub where you can feast on the likes of Bangers and Mash and Shepherds Pie.
Today she will be welcoming her guests for her fully sold maiden voyage around the Christmas Markets
