On 2^nd June 2008 The Queen will make a farewell trip to Cunard’s QE2 in Southampton. QE2, the most famous cruise ship in the world, was launched by Her Majesty on 20^th September 1967 at Clydebank. In forty years the ship has cruised over 5.6 million nautical miles, has crossed the Atlantic over eight-hundred times, has sailed twenty-five world cruises and in November will leave Cunard’s service. The Queen has only visited the ship twice since the original launch – once on 1^st May 1969 and again on 27^th July 1990 to mark the line’s 150^th anniversary.
