If you think the ship is noisy now i can assure you it was much noisier when it was being built. I was brought up near Clydebank and remember her launching. It was the best nights sleep the locals had for 3 years. I will be sailing on her soon and am looking forward to the experience. 80 metre long propeller shafts spinning 6 metre diameter props at 140rpm and driving her along at 30knts plus - you will never experience that on a cruise ship again;-Azipod propulsion may be quietly efficient but couldnt deliver performance like that. ENJOY IT FOR WHAT IT IS:- An engineering marvel with a timeless elegance although its a pity she's not steam turbine driven any more.

This was my 8th cruise & final on QE2 & travelling once again in the Queens Grill grade it was superb. Food & service were 1st class & I had a very spacious one deck single cabin / my parents were on Signal deck - their first time on QE2 & they were very impressed. Standards if anything get better each time you go back to the ship & it is very sad that I no longer can go back!!!! but am trying the QV next October but no for sure that she cannot compete with the QE2!!! A class act to follow. So sorry to hear about the problems with your cabin & noise!
