Having wanted to experience our Queen's ship for many years and similarly having always wanted to visit the fjords (since studying Norway in Alevel Geography all those years ago our choice of first cruise could have been no better. We looked forward to this holiday for a long time (having booked a year in advance) and it lived up to every bit of our expectations. We had to take our chance and go on the QE2 before she is retired and we now only wish we could return. We had a very small inside cabin at the bottom of the ship; it was noisy and the seas were quite rough in the Norwegian Sea; but did this put us off - not likely we loved every minute of it and indeed we are now booked on two more cruises. The mix of ages of people on board was good and other than the occasional "strange" person we found most other passengers to be friendly and good willed. The food was superb and the service second to none; highlights being the fresh Norwegian Lobster and Scallops. Prices on board were also good as the currency was dollars and the exchange rate very favourable at the time. We loved wandering around the onbaord shops at night and although the entertainment wasn't up to much (no better than Warner leisure) we enjoyed a few of the shows. This was our first time and we have now booked on two more cruises with Cunard and with P&O. Goodbye QE2 and may you enjoy your retirement.
