Farewell to a Great Ship QE2

Destination: Mediterranean Age: 65+
We as a family of four went on our final cruise on this wonderful ship on 12th August 2008. It was our 15th time on QE2.This cruise to the Med fully lived up to our expectations. Apart from the obvious signs of an ageing ship, absolutely everything from check in until leaving the ship 10 days later was superb. We much regret that we will not sail in her again. Anyone who has not been on QE2 should move quickly to get any accommodation that may still be available

Excellent We ate mostly in the Princess Grill but occasionally in the Lido

The Celestial Strings were our favourite but all was good

Gibraltar was best

All the Princess Grill staff as their constant detailed attention to our needs was exceptional

Think it only appropiate in this forum that we recognize Mrs. B. Muller, a widow, of Jersey that for over 9 years has been a steady resident of the QE2. Rather than go to a senior residence she has lived aboard this wonderful ship and enjoyed every moment of it and saved a bundle too. As the QE2 heads in November to Dubai we can only wish her smooth sailing and hope she finds another liner to call her home.

I was very luck to bump into Mrs Muller last week on a five day cruise on the QE2 and she told me she is going on the QM2 to live as the new Victioria is too slow!!! it was a privlage to meet her as I had read her story some time ago.

Victoria too slow? This is one real gal. She is spry, has all her marbles and is a great conversationalist and staff all adore her. Hope the QM2 meets all her needs.
