Our first cruise(or crossing, to be accurate) and what a choice. The QM2 is awe inspiring to look at but how did she shape up? Well, the crew managed to be attentive without the over the top fawning sometimes associated with a service industry. Food was the equal of a top restaurant with a wide choice and availability. We often wondered how all the ingredients were so fresh when we were in mid-Atlantic. There was always something going on; or we could use one of the many bars and enjoy reasonably priced drinks. The highlight was entering New York just as dawn was breaking and witnessing the ship scrape under the Verazzano bridge before the Manhattan skyline came into view. It is difficult to criticise anything although I would have liked the opportunity to go on deck possibly to view the night sky - but it was too windy and cold! However, we will cruise again
