We flew to New York with our son and his wife where we boarded QM2. The transfer at the airport was a bit slow but as soon as we reached Brooklyn the embarkation was very quick.
The staterooms are quite roomy and it was nice having a balcony. We found the food and service on board excellent we could not fault it at all. The evening entertainment was good and quite varied. We even tried the casino which was a first for me.
When at sea we enjoyed lunches in the golden pub which had a lovely atmosphere.
We went on several excursions the worst one was in St Lucia where we were herded onto a beach like cattle there were not enough sunbeds and you were packed in like sardines. Other guests took taxis and went to quieter beaches a lesson for next time.
The best excursion for us was in Tortola where we went swimming with dolphins an amazing experience which all 4 of us enjoyed.
Back in New York we were left hanging around on board for 3 hours waiting to disembark as we were transferring to a hotel. We enjoying cruising and we would love to go back on the QM2.
