transatlantic cruising

we cruised with cunard on the Queen Mary2 on a transatlantic in july 07. The ship is absolutly stunning and the staterooms were fab. We were quite disappointed with the level of entertainment on board as it was not very inventive but it was ok. The only real poblem we had was the white star service. The wine waiter was constantly reaching over me to serve other guests their wine at dinner and i felt this was quite rude, also it seems the staff are very reluctant to speak unless spoken to first. The cruise itself was great and we would do this again but I would like to see a little less formality from the staff. As a regular cruiser with rccl and p&o i thought cunard was to be something special but was disappointed

Difficult to understand your comments on entertainment and formality. Both are to a hire standard and usually require an appreciation of the same. It's not Hi di Hi entertainment and certainly not in your face over familiarity from the staff. Most Cunard regulars recognise this and prefer it as it is.

It seems that all you do is critisize other people's reviews. Everyone has their own opinions and observations - is this wrong? Not all people's expectations or standards are the same. It gets rather tiring reading all your negative comments regarding other people reviews.

I do not consider my opinions negative. I merely try to put a more objective perspective to a point(s) in a review, that I may not agree with,in order that other readers are aware of a balance. I do have a full life thank you very much and, incidentally, I note that I was not the only dissenter of your recent QM2 comparison, ludicrous was, I believe, the other comment. Happy cruising. Opinion: Disagree Comment by williams, st albans (01 Aug 08 10:15) about this REVIEW.
They are something special .....and their entertainment includes such as plays by RADA, guest lecturers, string quartets ....and the professionalism of the staff is legendary ..... if you are not comfortable with what Cunard offer, why not stick with P&0?
