Our recent trip on the Queen Victoria lived up to our expectations after taking our first cruise on the Queen Mary last year.

Whilst parts of his new ship feels slightly smaller than the Queen Mary, there is no doubt the Queen Victoria sustains
Cunard's standards. The high proportion of balcony staterooms does, however, tend to emphasize the feeling and look of a floating hotel in comparison to the other "Queens", but so what. The balcony staterooms offer the highest quality accomodation but we felt that the the shower room/toilet was a little smaller than the Queen Mary.

The food in the Britannia Grill was excellent and the service invariably very good. We thought what the self service Lido Restaurant offered was on a par with the Queen Mary (very good), but the huge windows allowed you a much more open feel and tremendous views whilst eating.

The activity programme was extensive and the entertainment was outstanding. It seems that several key staff have been moved from the Queen Mary to the Queen Victoria to ensure this new ship gets the best of starts. There were no disappointments apart from the night club being smaller than we expected and sadly on this occasion we came away from the Casino in deficit. Nevertheless this did not spoil an oustanding and memorable cruise to the Norwegian Fjords.

After studying our ports of call we took several excursions whilst in port as well as making our own way around on a number of occasions. The range of excursions were very good, catering for different tastes and age groups
